All in the News

Whether it’s the Federal Government Shutdown, the looming U.S. Debt Limit crises or a new Federal Reserve Chief nominee, the markets continue to react and extend their recent losses.  The new nominee for Fed Chief, Janet Yellen, while currently second in command at the Fed Reserve, is potentially an historic one.  If she is confirmed, Yellen would be the first female Fed Chief in the 100 year history of the Federal Reserve and the first Democrat in 25 years.  She will certainly be an interesting candidate as her easy money bent is viewed as being close to that of current Fed Chief Ben Bernanke but may also place her up against the general viewpoints of the majority of other Fed policy makers.

Our models here at ETF Global too have reacted to the markets and all that is transpiring here and abroad in the news and appear to recognize opportunities around the globe.  A week ago, ETFG Quant maintained all but one of its top 10 daily rankings outside the U.S.  Today, several of those same top-ranked international and global ETFs remain in the top 10 but with revised rankings.

Atop the rankings with a perfect Green Diamond Reward Rating of 10 out of 10 is FXI, the iShares China Large Cap ETF.  Second ranked is the Emerging Markets Asia ETF from iShares, EEMA and following that is EEM the iShares Emerging Market India ETF.

In the middle of the Top 10 Daily Rankings, we see continued opportunity internationally and in one domestic sector.  This next leg includes GXC (SPDR S&P China ETF), INXX (Emerging Global India Infrastructure Fund), EWY (iShares South Korea Capped ETF) and XOP SPDR S&P Oil and Gas Exploration ETF.

Finally, rounding out the remaining slots in today’s Top 10 Rankings are VGT (Vanguard Information Technology ETF), GMF (SPDR S&P Emerging Asia Pacific ETF) and PXE (PowerShares Dynamic Energy Exploration and Production Portfolio)

Each of the Ticker symbols above directly connect to an ETFG Tearsheet on that ETF, so please be sure to click through and check out any of these Top 10 in which you may have interest.  For a preview of tomorrow’s topic, please take a look at the ETFG Grey Market Report and the ETFG S&P Grey Market Summary which reflect the Ownership and Average Daily Trading Volumes in the underlying equities generated by Exchange-Traded-Products.  This is a tool that has been used actively by our CIO, Portfolio Manager and other Asset Management Clients during their portfolio construction process.
